The former Hills star's on-camera sidekick Lo Bosworth, 24, has called it quits with Scott Hochstadt, her beau of approximately two years.


"Lo and Scott are no longer together, but remain good friends," her rep tells PEOPLE.


"They realized they are in different places in their lives," a source close to the couple says. "The timing was just off. The breakup is hard for both of them, but it's the most realistic thing at this point."


Hochstadt, who lived with Bosworth and accompanied her on camera during the final season of The Hills, was reportedly shopping for an engagement ring shortly before

the split.

"Scott was in talks with the jewelry brand Yasmin & Jazmin for the past two months," a source says. "He wanted to marry Lo, and he wanted to propose with something special and personalized."

Demi Lovato has been no stranger to drama this year, landing in rehab after a blowout with a backup dancer, and now, provocative pictures of the Disney star are making the rounds online.


The Superficial has published photos of Lovato flashing her cleavage while her backup dancers, including Alex Welch, who she allegedly assaulted, look on and pose seductively with the star. While rumors that Lovato is suffering from a drug problem have surfaced, sources close to the star say that her issues are much more innocent.
Lovato's rep issued a statement to quash reports of the star's substance abuse, saying, "Demi Lovato is not in treatment for drug or alcohol addiction."


Her father, Patrick Lovato, has said the singer-actress is instead coping with the loss of a former boyfriend. He told RadarOnline that Demi is "doing great" in treatment and that his daughter is both a "strong girl" and "an honest person."

Katie Holmes will celebrate her 31st birthday Saturday with her hubby Tom Cruise, but before she does, she and daughter Suri are geting into the holiday spirit in Vancouver, Canada.
